John T Clappi:

John began his career in 1996 at a mid-sized firm in Boston where he was involved with public libraries, campus centers, dormitories, and classroom buildings at distinguished independent schools and universities in the northeast.  While practicing in Boston John also served on the faculty of the Boston Architectural Center.

Upon moving to New York, John joined the Pritzker Prize awarded firm of Richard Meier and Partners.  As an Associate in the firm he worked on residential projects in the US, Germany, and China as well as retail and commercial projects in Germany.

As an Associate at Allied Works Architecture, he worked on a new Architecture Center for Clemson University in Charleston, SC.  He also expanded upon his residential experience, working on a series of structures on a large estate in Dutchess County, NY that has been widely published and received several awards.  

John also worked for six years as a Senior Associate at the firm of Thomas Juul-Hansen where he was involved in luxury residential developer work in New York City and Miami. He also managed a 360 room hotel renovation in the Nomad neighborhood of Manhattan.

In 2018 John formed Eponymous Architecture with Joshua Keay in Brooklyn, NY.

John received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Roger Williams University where he also minored in structural engineering.  He graduated with distinction, including the Independent Project (Thesis) Award. John is a registered Architect in the States of New York and Massachusetts.

Joshua B Keay:

Josh has over 23 years of experience in the profession, having worked in both Boston and New York.

Prior to forming Eponymous Architecture, he served as a Senior Associate in the office of Sage and Coombe Architects for 11 years.  While at Sage and Coombe he was project architect for several large public projects, including the 135,000 sf Ocean Breeze Indoor Track & Field Facility located in Staten Island.  Part of Mayor Bloomberg’s PlaNYC initiative, the project was the recipient of a 2017 AIA New York State Excelsior Award, a 2016 Architizer A+ award, a 2009 Design Award from the New York City Public Design Commission, and is on track to obtain LEED Gold certification.

Josh also worked in the offices of DaSilva Architects, EE&K Architects, & Amsler Woodhouse & MacLean where he worked on a variety of urban design projects, master plans, and public and private building projects.

While working in Boston, Josh was a finalist for the prestigious Rotch Travelling Scholarship, and awarded first prize in the Bridging / A place for Architecture international design competition in Montreal.

Josh received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Roger Williams University, and is licensed to practice architecture in the State of New York. Josh lives with his wife and two children in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn.
